About
The proudly Boston-based acoustic rock trio Pesky J. Nixon touts its collective multiple personality disorder every chance it gets. Dedicated to three Boston sports icons, PJN endeavors to live up to their namesakes in dedication, service, and longevity.
The stage band, comprised of Dan Carp, Ethan Scott Baird and Jacob Bush, comes from three separate music traditions. Dan spent his pre-Pesky percussion days performing in pits, ensemble bands, and studios, and brings a varied background of kit, hand, and orchestral drumming to the table. Ethan traveled through New England’s acoustic coffeehouses taking refuge in many a Unitarian basement studying Roots music ... which comes through clearly in his writing and guitar-playing style. Jake (a.k.a. JBoS) stole the show at numerous a cappella events with his growling vocals, infectious energy, and stage presence.
Together PJN creates a sound as varied as their adopted hometown - with international influences as strong as the Boston folk scene and the tempered rock beats of the side street “one bulb” venues.
Pesky J. Nixon was formed in the autumn of 2005 and wrapped up their first demo in April of 2006. Be on the lookout for their first full-length album due out in January of 2008!
